Agreement for the Moderate Use of Antibiotics in Dairy Production Livestock

Laboratorios Ovejero and Lactiber León have signed an agreement to promote the moderation of antibiotic use in dairy production livestock.

Laboratorios Ovejero, a company manufacturing animal health products and a leading specialist in immunotherapy, has signed an agreement with Lactiber León, a leading company in the dairy sector and a supplier for Mercadona for milk and dairy products.

This collaboration agreement between both companies aims to modulate the use of antibiotic therapies through the application of techniques such as on-farm immunotherapy. This improves the immune response of the cow, optimizing performance and production, which allows for greater control over diseases and reduces the likelihood of livestock contracting them.

Immunotherapy applied to animal health is proving to be an optimal tool that the professional veterinarian can use to achieve a limited and prudent use of antibiotic therapy for the treatment of diseases in dairy cattle. This project also includes, among other things, collaboration in studying the issue of diseases affecting cow udders, causing mastitis in dairy production livestock.

The agreement was signed by Juan Pablo Ovejero, CEO of Laboratorios Ovejero, and Emilio de León, director of Lactiber León, in the presence of Ventura Barriales, owner of Granja Vencoba in Villacelama (León), where the event took place.
