Boehringer Ingelheim organizes the 11th Farm Animal Welfare Expert Forum with the participation of around 100 professionals to discuss welfare standards, especially those related to international trade of animal products.
The meeting will take place in Sydney (Australia) between May 31 and June 1, with the participation of veterinarians, farmers, food producers, and animal welfare specialists.
The aim is to review progress in the development of welfare standards and metrics associated with the international trade of animal products, with special attention to the export of live animals.
The diversity of attending professionals provides different perspectives on the science of animal welfare and the economic, social, and political forces driving changes in this sector. Therefore, over the past decade, this series of conferences has been very useful for sharing ideas on how improving welfare standards for livestock benefits animals, producers, the industry, and consumers worldwide. Especially at a time when there is a growing consumer demand for food to be produced ethically and sustainably.
The company convenes the 11th livestock animal welfare forum in Sydney with the participation of 100 professionals including veterinarians, scientists, farmers, food producers, and retailers.
