MSD Animal Health sponsored the recent edition of the Artificial Insemination Awards of the National Association of Churra Sheep Breeders (Anche).
Presented within the framework of the XXXI Churra Breed Fair, held in Palencia on April 7 and 8, these awards recognize the farms with the best fertility results of 2017.
The first prize went to Antonio Miano Miguel (Torregamones, Zamora), with a fertility rate of 65.22% in a batch of 49 inseminated ewes. The podium was completed by Luis Sanz Rincón (Moradillo de Roa, Burgos), with a fertility rate of 63.83% in a batch of 51 inseminated ewes, and Hnos. Guijarro S.C. (Navares de Ayuso, Segovia), with a fertility rate of 63.64% in a batch of 75 inseminated ewes.
MSD Animal Health thus once again shows its strong commitment to the continuous development of the small ruminants sector.
The company’s goal is to work hand in hand with the farms that are part of the G10 small ruminant farm management project, to demonstrate day by day that it is possible to achieve very good fertility data in artificial insemination in sheep.
The project, driven and carried out with the collaboration of a group of specialists, is an ambitious commitment by MSD Animal Health to contribute to the progress of the sector and facilitate the work for different types of users and their technical advisors.
