The Soloextensivo expert group strengthens knowledge exchange on extensive cattle farming at its annual meeting

Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health Spain has gathered the members of the Soloextensivo expert group at its annual meeting, held on July 2 and 3 in the town of El Barco de Ávila.

This initiative, created in 2018, is made up of veterinarians specialized in extensive cattle farming and is established as a reference forum for the exchange of experiences, technical advances, and discussion on the challenges of the sector.

During the first day, attendees participated in two highly interesting technical sessions.

Isabel Casaus, representative of CITES, addressed the management of rearing in nursing cows, sharing key aspects to optimize this fundamental stage within extensive cattle farms.

Next, Alberto Díez Guerrier, from the Complutense University of Madrid and member of the Soloextensivo group, provided an update on the situation of nodular dermatitis in Spain, reviewing the evolution of this disease and the main aspects currently of concern.

The second day was dedicated to on-site knowledge, with a visit to two local farms, where group members could exchange impressions and learn firsthand about different management models in the region.
